How We'll Win A Progressive Majority

We will organize from the grassroots with our brothers and sisters in the labor movement and with other progressive allies. This means working hard to communicate with fellow union members about the key issues in front of us and educating them about what they can do about making a change - from voting to volunteering and everything in between.

To stay on top of things, contact us about joining the TAA Politics email list, go ahead and join our Facebook group, and catch up on the blog.

Communication

Educating and mobilizing our membership for political action comes from communicating with one another, member to member. Individual and group contact and communication makes it possible for us to inform one another on the key political matters in front of us.

Communication takes many forms - a different medium for a given message - and we rely especially on individual, personal, active contact like face-to-face conversations and phone-calls. This is how we really engage and organize.

Effective Communication

Communication about politics is more effective the more personal and active it is. Face-to-face conversations are more effective than emails. Phone-calls are more effective than a piece of literature. Face-to-face conversations and phone-calls are the core of our member-to-member communications in our overall political organizing program.

We do what is effective because we want to win - there's so much at stake. The good news is that political activism is something that anyone can do and that you can get better at with time, with experience, and with good teaching.

Activism

We need our membership to be involed in our political organizing program. And to win, we need an effective membership. So we put a high alue on activating an educated and trained membership - so each action includes education and training components before you are involved in real action. Of course, the best training and education is actully engaging in activism.

Everyone, from hardened activist to greenhorn novice should feel comfortable getting involved in our political organizing program - we hope that you'll join us!
