When Does Political Action Matter?

Quite simply, political action matters all the time. The decisions made by elected officials and other policy-makers have tremendous impacts upon as in so many ways. So we need to be engaged and active all the time, from election to election and everything in between.

As Fighting Bob La Follette once said, "mere passive citizenship is not enough." He was right - simply voting, informed or otherwise, is not enough. We must be active, organizing from the grassroots on up for positive, progressive action through the democratic process at all times. That does not just happen every election - we need to be active and engaged in between them, but especially during campaigns to elect progressive leaders that will stand up with us.

This part of the website is under construction right now. We'll have it ready to go shortly. Thanks for your patience. Check out the other sections below, take a look at some things about our action, candidates, organizing and politics, or just head on home.

What You Can Do Right Now

The TAA will be working with our brothers and sisters in the labor movement, on-campus and throughout South Central Wisconsin, to build a political program that advances a progressive agenda. Our organizing to win will be carried out by our membership - so we need you to be involved today. Find out how you can be involved today on our organizing page or take a look at upcoming events and actions. And if you have any questions or want to get involved right now, be in touch with the chair of our Political Education Committee, Peter Rickman.
